In today’s digital age, social media has become an integral part of any successful marketing strategy for small businesses. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok etc., offer an incredible opportunity to connect with your target audience, build brand awareness, and drive sales.

One issue that I’ve had to overcome with managing business pages on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram is getting sucked into the social feed. We all know how addictive social media apps have become. It’s so easy to go onto a platform just out of habit, and then before you know it you’ve been scrolling for 20 minutes..

This is particularly a problem when it comes to managing a business page, as this is something that is already taking up valuable work time to manage.

Unlike your personal social media profile, when you log onto your business page you aren’t there to just browse the feed, you’re there to add value to your business. So, you don’t want to unintentionally end up scrolling through the news feed while you’re logged on and waste valuable business time.

Only log into the business page at set times, and only do so with a plan of action in your mind beforehand about what you’re going to do there. Once you’ve done it, log out and move on! I also find it useful to keep all business social pages off my phone.

Logging in on my computer rather than on my phone seems to feel more like a proactive ‘work move’ and thus reduces the likelihood of me getting sucked into the dreaded newsfeed..
